8. Do not leave CD/DVD in the drive
Leaving CD or DVD leads to unnecessary power consumption so it’s better to remove them if not being used. This saves some precious battery life.
9. Don’t leave Power cable in the outlet
It is important not to leave power cable connected to outlet when it is not in use. This leads to overcharging your laptop battery which reduce your laptop battery life. Avoid over charging your laptop battery in order to enhance your battery life.

One more thing you can do is to remove your laptops battery and use it on external power when youre at home. This prevents the battery from being recharged too many times as recharging causes the cells in the battery to become weaker over time.
