You might already know what’s the difference between an untethered jailbreak and a tethered jailbreak, but have you heard about a “semi-tethered jailbreak”? Yes folks, semitethered jailbreak has been released for the iPhone, iPad and the iPod touch.

The BigBoss has released a new kind of jailbreak called the semi-tethered jailbreak. What this kind of semitethered jailbreak does is, it allows you to boot-tethered without the need of a computer. Very useful for people who travel a lot and do not have easy access to a computer.

This sounds too good to be a true right? Well it does have some disadvantages such as you won’t be able to use Safari, Cydia and other jailbroken apps.

How- To Semi Tethered Jailbreak iPhone iPad iPod touch

STEP 1: You will need to jailbreak your iPhone iPad iPod touch using the current Redsnow 0.9.9b7, if you haven’t done head over to our guide on jailbreaking.

STEP 2: Now head over to Cydia and add the following repo http://thebigboss.org/semitether

STEP 3: Now install “SemiTether”

That’s it you are done.

Although it is the not the best jailbreak but it is better than a tethered one, while iOS 5 does not have an untethered jailbreak so just manage with this.
