As we reported a couple of days ago about a guide on unlocking iPhone 4S baseband 4.11.08 on iOS 5. At that time we did not have confirmation of whether it was going to work or not but now it seems we do.

iPhone Dev team member musclenerd just tweeted confirming that unlocking on iPhone 4 baseband 4.11.08 does not completely work. It does work for only a couple of seconds/minutes but after that it goes back to its original state.

It doesn’t work for any longer than seconds on the other models either. It’s a normal part of the new activation method not a bug

We did mention it before that this method of unlocking iPhone 4 on iOS 5 BB 4.11.08 would require you to have an AT&T SIM and a T-Mobile pre-paid SIM, but not only that many users also reported of it not being a permanent solution.

The video up-loader of that method to unlock iPhone 4 on iOS 5 has added another line to its description of that video.

iPhone 4S works on a very temporary basis seconds to minutes 

Even though it mentions that iPhone 4S works for a very short of time, the same thing goes for the iPhone 4 on 4.11.08. This is not a permanent solution.

Many users are waiting for a permanent solution for unlocking their iPhone 4 on iOS 5. Do NOT Fall for anyone asking for money to unlock your iPhone 4 on 4.11.08 and do not donate any money to anyone posing as a member of the iPhone DEV team.
