For those Windows users, it has finally been released. No it’s not Absinthe for Windows, it is in fact CLI. The jailbreaking tool from the iPhone Dev team. So folks go ahead and download CLI for Windows to untethered jailbreak iPhone 4S and iPad 2 on iOS 5.0.1.
Most of you would not be familiar with this new CLI from iPhone Dev team. This is because they have decided to release CLI before releasing the easy-jailbreaking tool Redsnow. This was done in order to avoid as little bugs as possible for Redsnow to jailbreak iPhone 4S and iPad 2.
This method using CLI for jailbreaking iPhone 4S and iPad 2 is a little techie, if you want to wait for Absinthe for Windows then it’s your choice or you can follow the guide below for jailbreaking iOS device for Windows.
So let’s get started.
Jailbreak iPhone 4S & iPad 2 For Windows
Note
This method is only for Windows, those users who have Macs can use the easy jailbreaking tool Absinthe. Go ahead and download Absinthe if you have Mac.
This is an untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S & iPad 2 only.
You will need to back up before jailbreaking iPhone 4S or iPad 2.
Restore iPhone 4S or iPad 2 but DO NOT restore from the back up, simply do it from iOS 5.0.1
You Need:
Download CLI for Windows
iPhone 4S or iPad
Jailbreaking Procedure For iPhone 4S & iPad 2
STEP 1: Download CLI from the above link.
STEP 2: Connect your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 to your computer.
STEP 3: Click “Start” and click “run” and type cmd.exe
STEP 4: Type “CD C:\cinject_0.4.3″ in the command window.
Remember you will need to save the CLI download file in C drive
STEP 5: Next type cinject.exe -i payloads/jailbreak.mobileconfig
STEP 6: You will see an option to install jailbreak on your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 (not in computer) simply install it.
STEP 7: Now enter the command cinject.exe -j payloads.
STEP 8: Now execute command cinject.exe -w
STEP 9: Now on your iOS device go to Settings > Network > VPN and turn it on. You will see a “configuration error occured”. Do not need to worry as this is part of it.
STEP 10: Your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 will reboot and you will see many errors in Windows command screen.
That is it folks, you should now be able to see Cydia on your iPhone 4S or iPad 2.
