Apple has finally unveiled what we had been waiting for all this time. The rumors are all put to rest as we now know everything there is to know about the brand new iPad 3. Here is what you need to know about the new iPad 3!

Apple today announced the new iPad 3. As most of you who have been following Maypalo for quite sometime would be able to guess all the features of the iPad 3. Those of you who are not aware of these details. Just read ahead.

iPad 3 Retina Display

We have the green signal on this on. It has been confirmed that Apple will give the iPad 3 the high resolution “retina display”. Although most of us knew that iPad 3 was getting the retina display some were a bit skeptical. The new iPad features a pretty amazing 2048x 1536 and 44 percent greater saturation. That is 3.1 million pixels in a mobile device, the greatest ever.

iPad 3 Design

Design wise iPad 3 is similar to the previous version of the iPad. The iPad 2. The new iPad is 9.4mm thin, weighing 1.4lbs. That is slighter thicker than the current version of iPad 2 or in other words 0.6mm thicker and 0.67Lbs heavier.

iPad 3 4G LTE

As we mentioned previously that iPad 3 was going to be the first Apple device to get the 4G LTE technology. Well now it has been confirmed.

Apple’s new iPad 3 will get 4G LTE technology, making it super fast. The speed on 4G LTE networks can go up to a massive 72Mbps so say no more to “loading times” as this new speed will simply load everything in seconds.

iPad 3 5MP camera

It seems most of us got this one wrong. The new camera on the iPad 3 is 5MP and records videos at 1080p HD quality. The new iSight camera has a backside illumination, a 5-element lens and a hybrid IR filter and to mention face detection and “autofocus and white balance”.

It also has an image stabilization much like the one on the iPhone 4S. Basically in other words, it has the iPhone 4S camera except it is slightly lower in mega pixels count.

iPad 3 Battery life

Although we had nothing to complain about the battery life of the iPad 2. Apple has improved the battery life in iPad 3 to an extent that we can “happily” use it on 4G LTE.

You would be able to use the new iPad 3 or the “New iPad” for 10 hours on 3G and 9 hours on 4G LTE. Making it one of the best in the market for battery life (4G included).

iPad 3 A5X processor

There were rumours that iPad 3 would get a complete new chip although we weren’t sure which one, A5X or A6. Well iPad is shipping with A5X processor which is about 4 times faster then A4.

For those gaming fans out there, you will be slightly relieved to know that games are simply awesome on this new iPad 3. A few games are already out to get the best out of the new A5X processor such as Infinity blade: dungeons.

iPad 3 Prices

The prices are same for the iPad 3 as were for the iPad 2 when it got launched except the new 4G LTE iPad’s are slightly expensive. The new iPad starts at $499 goes up to $829 for the 64GB WiFi + 4G + 3G model.

Apple has dropped the prices of iPad 2 16GB models to $399 Wi-Fi and $529 for Wi-Fi +3G.

iPad 3 Overall Features

We pretty much predicted everything Apple had to offer on the new iPad 3 so basically we are not surprised. Now the question remains whether you should buy the new iPad or not. This all depends on you. If you are an iPad fan and had been waiting for the iPad 3 with the retina display. This one is for you. Those of you who were expecting something truly mind blowing, it doesn’t really make you go “wow”.
