The popular unlocking tool Ultrasnow fixer has been updated to unlock iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.1. The newly released firmware from Apple. So if you rely on carrier unlock go ahead and download Ultrasnow fixer to unlock iPhone on iOS 5.1 by following the guide below.
If you are unaware of Ultrasnow fixer’s history; it is a tool developed to unlock iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS with the help of Ultrasnow, the popular unlocking tool from the iPhone dev team. It mainly unlocks those basebands which are supported with Ultrasnow.
The new ultrasnow fixer does not support any new basebands in the latest version for unlocking iPhone on iOS 5.1. These are the basebands that it will unlock.

iPhone dev team has mentioned that they are going to release Ultrasnow for iOS 5.1 in a couple of days but if you simply can’t wait to unlock your iPhone on iOS 5.1 follow our guide below to unlock your iPhone 4/3GS.
Ultrasnow Fixer Unlock iOS 5.1
Important note:
You will need to have a jailbroken iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS depending on which one you want to unlock. If not already jailbroken head over to this link to jailbreak your iOS device.
While upgrading to new firmware remember to preserve your baseband. If baseband is not preserved here over to this link to follow the guide for preserving baseband.
STEP 1: Download iOS 5.1 with a preserve baseband and jailbreak it.
STEP 2: Once jailbroken launch Cydia and go to Manage > Sources
STEP 3: Tap Edit at the top right corner and add the following repo: http://repo.iparelhos.com
STEP 4: Once you have added the repo go back to sources and tap on the repo you just added.
STEP 5: You will now see “Ultrasnow fixer for 5.1″. Simply install it.
STEP 6: After installing ultrasnow fixer for iOS 5.1. Search for “Ultrasnow 1.2.5” and install it.
STEP 7: Reboot.
That’s it! You have successfully unlocked iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.1.

jus re fetch the ipad baseband bcoz wen u jailbreakin it any time it will auto currupt ur ipad baseband so refetch it again along wd jailbreaking thats it

when jailbreakin wd redsnow u must hav to re fetch the ipad baseband then use fixer and then ultrasnw 1.2.5 thats it

i have an iphone 3gs on 5.1 and 6.15.00 bb…i load the ultrasn0w fixer, then ultrasn0w, just get “searching”, then reboot and keep getting “searching”…any ideas?
I’m having the same trouble as you: just I have 5.1.1 with 6.15.00 no service and searching all the time.

how do I unlock my iphone 3gs ios 5.1 with bb 05.16.05
I have followed this procedure but is just keeps on searching:
Iphohe3GS
baseband: 5.16.05
=> upgraded to 5.1
=> jailbreak with redsnow
=> unlocked
=> installed ultrasnow fix
=> installed ultrasnow
=> rebooted
=> still no signal

make custom ipsw using latest redsnow, then on tinyumbrella, set cydia host in advance settings save shsh for good, pwned DFU mood for itunes, restore with no baseband ipsw made by redsnow, then after restore, jailbrake, check install cydia and ipad baseband for oldboot rom., then lunch ultrasn0w,.. ooooohhhhhhhhhhhhLa….

It works… Then only thing you have to do is turn off the device afrter fixer instalation for 1 or 2 mins then turn back on
what about iphone 4 with IOS 5.1.1 with baseband 4.12.01 ? I am stuck with it.
currently check what origin carrier your iphone has, and look for better remote factory unlocking sites, depends in availability of carrier unlock system and that will cost huge money and badly waiting for the unlock.
