Apple’s 3D Maps For iOS 6 Ready To Be Launched This June!

By -

The days are getting closer to the launch of World Wide Developer Conference which is going to be held in 11 June. It is expected that Apple will release iOS 6 and with this iOS 6 comes Apple’s own 3D maps.

It has been rumored for quite some time now that Apple is going to ditch Google maps for its own maps which are going to feature stunning 3D maps. Apple’s acquisition of companies that produce maps just added fuel to the fire on these rumors regarding 3D maps.

One such company was C3 technologies which Apple acquired. C3 technology produced 3D maps which were used for missile guidance and as you can guess, these 3D maps by C3 are very accurate and realistic.

It is expected that Apple is going to introduce these 3D maps in iOS 6. The folks over at BGR have got some interesting information regarding the 3D maps.

To access the 3D maps you would simply need to peel back the lower right hand corner just like the one in the current iOS version. You will be presented with a 3D icon, pressing that will enable you to view maps in 3D.

We are less then two weeks away from WWDC 2012, so wait only a couple of more days and see what Apple has in store for us!
