We here at Maypalo simply get bombarded with questions regarding unlocking iPhone, and as we try to update you with every information on unlocking iPhone, it seems some are still confused. So here is an update on unlocking iPhone 4 baseband 4.11.08/4.12.01.
Since the days of free SAM unlock provided by the Chinese hacker Loktar Sun, the unlocking scene has been quite. There hasn’t been much important news to report regarding the unlock. Well as some of you are still in doubt, here I will try to answer some of your questions.
SAM Unlock iPhone 4 Still Works?
This is a question I have been asked so many times that I have simply stopped counting. We reported long ago that Apple has fixed the SAM unlock loophole so there is no way you will be able to unlock your iPhone 4 or any other iPhone using that method now. So folks SAM unlock is a no go.
I would also like to remind you that other methods that require a “server side” unlock activation wont work. So please refrain from paying for any server-side unlock. These included the Applenberry’s Gevey SIM, R-SIM 4 and Rebel SIM.
AT&T iPhone Unlock Still Works?
AT&T unlock has the green signal. Unlocking your iPhone via AT&T has a major advantage over other unlocking methods. If AT&T unlocks your iPhone that means it is FACTORY UNLOCKED. What this means is that you do not have to worry about what baseband you are on when upgrading to a higher firmware.
Those of you who own an AT&T locked iPhone and want to unlock it on any baseband including 4.12.01 or 4.11.08 can:
1) Email them at partnershipops@att.com to check if you can get it unlocked
2) Call them at 1-800-331-0500 (the fastest method)
3) Head over to AT&T’s Live Chat Session to talk to AT&T’s customer support representative.

Currently as far as I know hackers have mainly shifted there workings to jailbreaking rather then unlocking. But as you know with SAM unlock, which was released by an unknown hacker, you might never know when a solution for unlocking iPhone pops up! So basically that is it to unlock your iPhone on baseband 4.11.08 or 4.12.01.

I had asked this question before but did not get an reply. What should a person like me do? I am on 5.0.1, BB 4.11.08 — I had got my phone unlocked using SAM. Question 1: Should I at all think of migrating to 5.1.1. 2> If so what is the Jailbreak method should I use — exact steps of getting to 5.1.1 3> How do I ensure that my SAM unlock is preserved when I move to the higher version? O had untill a week ago bb 04.11.08 and iOS 5.0.1 unlock with SAM.
I upgrade to 5.1.1 and i preserved my bb and unlock it again with SAM unlock tickets.
O used snowbreeze that preseves tour bb. After that i restored my SAM activation tickets.
As long as you have saved your SAM tickets you can upgrade to 5.1.1 no problem.

Will you help me please. I have unlocked with sam once and saved my activation ticked but for some reasons i needed to restore and now i don’t know how to use this activation ticket my iphone is on ios 5.1
you have to save the ticket and then you qye SAM make a custom 5.1.1 to keep the bb and then restore with itunes to restore ending when you leave it within 10 seconds iTunes will recognize it Disconnect it followed the steps in the iphone to me q asked the original chip then download redsn0w 0.9.11b4 connect the iphone and made the putting jeilbreack install cydia seen and deactivate when it leaves the apple redsn0w I opened my boot just got extras and then turns on and the same place the original chip, ifunbox clip you open raw file system in / var / root / library and clip lockdown right then delete then drag the folder you saved to q tiket ifunbox lockdown to restart the iphone and if it comes on only in this last step uses redsn0w 0.9.10b8b extras / boot when you turn just grabs and can activate signal and then install cydia 5.1.1 untethered Rocky Raccoon and ready jeilbreack restart ios 5.1.1 untethered
ENIS honestly uf you are in 5.1 and you dont feel confident in upgrading to 5.1.1 i recomend you to stay in 5.1 cós the big update was from 5.0.1 to 5.1, the iOS 5.1.1 is 99% equal to 5.1.
If you dont know hoje to restore your SAM activation tickets you better stay still, uf you still wanna try you can check in the net how to restore them.

tienes que guardar los ticket de SAM y luego tienes qye hacer un custom 5.1.1 para mantener la bb y despues restaurar con itunes terminando de restaurar cuando te sale que dentro de 10 segundo itunes lo reconocera desconectalo seguí los pasos en el iphone hasta q me pidió el chip original luego descarga redsn0w 0.9.11b4 conecte el iphone e hice el jeilbreack poniendo el visto en instalar cydia y deactivate cuando sale la manzana volví a abrir redsn0w puse extras y just boot luego se enciende y aparece lo mismo poner el chip original , abres ifunbox haces clip en raw file system/var/root/library y con clip derecho en lockdown luego en delete luego arrastras la carpeta q has guardado con los tiket lockdown a ifunbox y reinicias el iphone si no se prende solo en este ultimo paso utiliza redsn0w 0.9.10b8b extras/just boot cuando se prenda ya coje señal y puedes activarlo luego en cydia instalas Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untethered reinicias y listo jeilbreack untethered ios 5.1.1

At&t unlocked my phone from my off contract account, but will no longer unlock phones that were not on the account…
“Due to security reasons, we can no longer unlock any IMIE that was not active on your account. You will need to have the original owner call us with thier account information. to request that the phone be unlocked”

Hi – I have got my iphone unlocked from AT&T after being rejected 20 times. I think they have unlocked my iphone by mistake or something I am not sure. Because I got email saying that InvalidAccount (as with most of unlucky AT&T iphone owners). But lady was helpful and she asked me to fax proof of ebay purchase. And you know what before sending any proof my iphone was unlocked

So now my fear is: If I upgrade my firmware to latest version what are chances of getting iphone locked again(looks like stupid question but I have seen few posts by user saying their iphone locked again after upgrading)..

there has been some sites saying they can unlock the iphone4 with baseband 4.12 or older basebands as well. i was hoping if any of this is true because i recently updated mine and forgot to preserve my baseband. i asked some guy where i live he told me its gonna cos me $200 to fix it but i’ll take 7 days to unlock it. i dont know which to go with. either the website or the guy here. are those websites genuine?

I’m from Italy and I’ve a Spanish iPhone.. When it was 5.0.1 I unlocked it with Sam and I worked very well but i needed to restore it and now it’s a 5.1.1 with basebad 4.12.01… When it was 5.0.1 I did jailbreak with redsnow sO i haven’t the ticket.. Is there any methods to unlock my baseband?? Is there any software?? Pls answer thx
