The popular or in other words the most popular Cydia app Installous has been given a major update. Installous 5 is currently available to download for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch on iOS 5.1.1 or lower firmwares. If you had been encountering any problems relating to downloading Installous 5 for your iOS device, check out some solutions below.
Fix Installous 5 API Error
Some users are reporting an API error for installous 5 while searching for updates. This error results when Installous can not connect to Apptrackr. Follow the steps below to fix the API error for Installous 5.
Method 1
STEP 1:Make sure you are connected to an active internet connection.
STEP 2: If you are on an active connection go to Apptrackr.org and see if you can open it. If you can’t it might mean your ISP has blocked it due to piracy reason. (If you can access it Go STEP 5)
You can wait for a couple of hours and see if it is back up again if you are using a dynamic IP address.
STEP 3: If you still can’t access Apptrackr. You will need a proxy server to do that.
STEP 4: Find a proxy server by searching online. Once you find it head over to Settings > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi Network and choose your HTTP Proxy by tapping on the Manual button.
STEP 5: Once it is back up again, reboot your iOS device; this API error would be fixed.
Fix Installous 5 Hash Sum Mismatch Error
Some users are reporting an error called “hash Sum Mismatch”. To fix this error follow the guide below:
STEP 1: You will need to rest your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. To do this head over to Settings > General > Network > Reset Network Settings
STEP 2: Jailbreak your iOS device using Absinthe.
STEP 3: Re-install Hackulo repo
STEP 4: Reboot.
This should fix the hash sum mismatch error.
Pro tip: Remove Installous 4 and then install Installous 5. Many people have reported this method to work.

hi..i already downloaded installous…bt i cn’t download anything..my phone is 4s ios 5.1.1.jailbrake from cydia.cn u tell me y its not working…pls…
i feel so stupid… i updated my installous and hackulous to 5, then everything just stopped working, so i restored everything .. had to reinstall all apps, then i jailbroke my iphone4s again . and when i tried to search for things on installous, API error would always appear, i tried reinstalling it turning off my phone, but non of it worked. then i finaly tried searching for something else turns out that i was spelling it wrong all along. so it works now
Cydia keeps telling me that thee is an Installous 5 upgrade everytime I start Cydia even though I have installed Installous 5 many times.
Everyone chill, just install any free app from regular app store

Here is the correct way to fix the Installous 5.0.3-1 White Blank Page No captcha Error when trying to download Apps.
This allows you to still be able to use the Installous 5.0.3-1, the other way is temporary with the Installous 5.0.1-1
Instructions:
First go to dropbox.com/s/zsa5au6umtx80z3/Installous%20Fix.zip and download the Installous Fix.zip, Unpack it to your desktop. (Virus Free) Files are by me!
1.) SSH into your iDevice and go to var/mobile/Documents/Installous/ and delete this file: us.hackulo.downloadQueue.plist
2.) Place the us.hackulo.downloadQueue.plist file provided in this folder
3.) Now go to var/mobile/Documents/Installous/AdBlock/ and place the blacklist.json file in this folder
4.) Respring and open Installous and download like you normally would and you are done.
