It only took a day for hackers to jailbreak the newly launched iOS 6. Musclenerd a prominent hacker of the iOS jailbreak community, jailbroke an iPhone running iOS 6 beta 1 within 24 hours of release and as a courtesy released redsnow to jailbreak iOS 6 beta 1 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. But there was one problem with it and that was you couldn’t download Cydia on it, well it’s about to be changed.
You can now install Cydia running on iOS 6 beta 1 thanks to developer WyndWarrior . Just follow the guide below to install Cydia on iOS 6 beta 1 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
Install Cydia On iOS 6 Beta 1
Supported Hardware:
- iPhone 4S
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 3GS
- iPad 3
- iPad 2
- iPod touch 4
Requirements
- Be on Wi-Fi
- SSH Tools (ie. Coda for Mac, PuTTY for Windows)
- Be on iOS 6 Beta 1
Guide To Install Cydia On iOS Beta 1
STEP 1: Jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running on iOS 6 beta 1. Make sure you boot tethered.
STEP 2: Now head over to Settings > Wi-Fi Networks and note down your IP address:
STEP 3: Now open an SHH client and fill the details to connect:
Server: (your IP address)
User name: root
Password: alphine
STEP 4: Now paste the following command:
wget -q -O /tmp/cyinstall.sh http://wyndrepo.googlecode.com/files/cyinstall.sh && chmod 755 /tmp/cyinstall.sh && /tmp/cyinstall.sh
STEP 5: Respring.
