It was something we had been expecting but still weren’t 100 percent sure. Well folks now it has been confirmed now. The next generation iPhone, the iPhone 5 is going to have a 19 pin dock connector from the 30 pin that is being currently used for Apple’s iOS products.
Three independent manufactures have confirmed that Apple’s next generation iPhone will have 19-pin dock connector replacing the large 30-pin used for current products.
Techcrunch reports:
Although the form factor and actual size are still unknown, TechCrunch has independently verified that Apple is working on adding a 19-pin port, replacing the current 30-pin port, to the new iPhone. It is a move that will surely send shocks through the iPhone accessory ecosystem.
Previous reports also suggested Apple was looking for a smaller dock connector which it seems now has been confirmed. It is also expected that Apple’s iPhone 5 screen size will be 4 inches and will be be 20% thinner than the current iPhone 4S/4 model.
Bringing an entirely new dock connector for the next iPhone will have some people complaining as they will need to buy a whole lot of new accessories as the current ones would be out dated.
The new 19-pin dock connector for iPhone 5 will be somewhat good news for accessory makers as more iPhone accessories will be sold. Its not only good news for those makers but also for Apple itself, as it is very keen on saving space. A 19-pin dock connector will save some precious space in the new iPhone, maybe to increase more power especially to beat the powerhouse Samsung Galaxy S3?
Well whatever is the case for reducing the dock connector size, I for one am glad to get rid of those 30-pin dock connector. What about you?

Sounds good to me, except that we all need to replace our old fashioned data-charger cables.. I just hope they improve the headsets as well, probably the headset will match the color of the phone? White with white and black with a nice matte black touch headset?
Well, let’s see, just hope the size of the iPhone doesnt go as wild as the Samsung line has, they are just.. :TOO BIG:
So having a small dock chargers would solve the issues about the battery? For me, I don’t care how big or small the size of the dock chargers as long it does not bother me charging my iPhone twice a day. -_-
