The less frequent release of consoles has put the gaming fans to a position that they have fixed their eyes on the coming cycles of console, to be more innovative and function fully superb. Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s PlayStation 3 are the two market leaders but are now getting quite old and therefore most of the people are not contented to carry out with these old hardware.
There are abundant news hitting the pages of various sites about Microsoft’s next console, dubbed the Xbox 720. Over the weekend, a supposed Xbox 720 “Durango” dev kit cropped up on a secretive forum, that looks quite similar to your normal PC. Microsoft seems quiet to deliver any thing new about this. But it is known that an Intel processor, NVIDIA graphics, as well as more than 8GB of memory is packed in the prototype.
As per EuroGamer’s Digital Foundry, which is a site that makes people aware about leaked hardware including liaising with developers, this is a genuine system and the leakers also conclude that Microsoft’s next-gen console will be packed in an eight-core CPU, as well as Blu-ray, true 1080p and native 3D output.
Smashing the current Xbox, this new console is going to be a complete package of entertainment, as it is said to be around six times more powerful than the existing Xbox. This new product is going to be a complete twist from a simple gaming device to a social, streaming media, music and web service platform.
Previously it was expected that Microsoft will release two separate devices one families which will include features specially related for casual gaming and the other one for serious gamers. Well folks it seems it’s not going to happen, as only one version of X-box 720 will be released later this year during the holiday season.
Though all of these appear to be rumors but all the Xbox fans will be desperate to know more about the next-gen Xbox, which like its predecessor, will rule the market.
