For a long time we have been hearing rumours about a new dock connector for the iPhone 5 but one thing we did not hear about the dock connector is how many pins it is going to have. It had been rumoured for quite sometime that iPhone 5 will get an 19-pin dock connector but according to new leaked parts, we are in for 8-pins!

The French site nowhereelse.fr which has been leaking iPhone 5 parts for quite sometime and it seems they have got more under their sleeves.

Now they have posted pictures of the dock connector which iPhone 5 is going to get. An 8-pin dock connector for the iPhone 5! Yes folks, it is not the 19-pin we have been hearing for a long time but a completely new smaller dock connector.

In the current iPhone models since the original iPhone 2G we have been getting the 30-pin dock connector, it had been a standard size for most Apple products but it seems it is all about to be changed.

Every technology has its time, and it seems the age of the large 30-pin is over as Apple is bringing the new smaller and (powerful?) dock connector to the next generation Apple products.

Well we are currently not sure whether iPhone 5 is going to get a 19-pin dock connector or an 8-pin. But one thing we are sure is that iPhone 5 is going to introduce smaller dock connectors so it makes room for more important ones such as battery. Talking about iPhone 5 battery, it seems we are going to get disappointed with that one.
