Well, we were pretty much sure that iPhone 5 was going to be sold like hot cakes but nobody expected it to be sold like this crazy after a majority of users were disappointed with no major features. Apple has today issued a statement mentioning that they have been completely blown away by the pre-order sales.
iPhone 5 pre-orders started on Friday and within an hour the device was a sell out. iPhone 5 online stock inventory was sold out in a hour pushing the shipping dates back two weeks to some people’s disappointment. Now we need to know exactly how many did Apple actually had in their inventory.
Apple issued a statement to allThingsD mentioning they have been blown away by customer response.
“Pre-orders for iPhone 5 have been incredible,” Apple spokeswoman Nat Kerris toldAllThingsD. “We’ve been completely blown away by the customer response.”
If you still haven’t managed to secure yourself an iPhone 5 you can buy one when it gets available in Apple stores on 21 September, or if you don’t want to stand in long lines you can pre-order one now online but the shipping dates have been pushed two weeks ahead.
