There is no doubt that competition to become the best OS in the market is very tough. No matter it’s Apple, Android or Windows, each of them are stuffed with the best features. You all might be well aware about the stunning features of iOS and Android but this time we will give you some updates about Windows too. Windows 8 consists of many amazing features like, Run Automatic Maintenance on a Schedule. This means that this is a feature which runs all the tasks like software updates, security scanning, and other diagnostic tests daily. By default, this maintenance is carried about 3 AM but you can also change this time in the Action center. You can also ask Windows whether you want to further carry this task or not. If you don’t want the maintenance to be done automatically, you can do it manually too by setting it from the action center.

As the name suggests that Windows 8 also allows you to customize the apps within the search bar. Every time you search something from the start screen, you can observe a list of apps just below it, clicking on any one of them, you’ll search those same terms in that specific app. The secret is that you can do several things with these apps like, you can tweak this list and can also remove and add apps to the list. You can do this by Window’s 8 setting, follow these steps to customize your apps, first bring up the Charms bar (with Win+C), click Settings, and visit change PC Settings and search from the left sidebar, and turn off all those apps, which you don’t want to be displayed on the screen.

Aero lite was an additional theme for Windows 8 when it was in the testing process, it is a transparent theme, which gives your PC a different look. But this theme was replaced by some other basic themes therefore it was no longer present in the OS. If you still want it, you can have from the theme folder of your computer with some other small tweaks. You can re-enable it and can set it as your theme. Although it is not very different than the usual theme but it gives a slightly unique look to your title button bars and few other small parts of the OS.

The main specialty of Windows is tile appearance, which appears when you first start Windows 8 but after that it gives you a boring and a dull look. Now you can enjoy a great fun animation every time you start up your PC. You can do this by a simple registry tweak, which ask the Windows to show that tile pattern every time you start booting up. There are also Registry tweaks available to customize this animation such as user picture, username and tile offset, which helps you to customize your PC.

For the first time, when you open your Windows 8, you will observe a tile-pattern screen. This screen contains many apps but there are also apps compiled in different groups. You can also create these groups by simply dragging apps to the empty space on the screen. Once the group is created you can also name them such as games, work or others. You can name the groups by simply clicking on the small buttons in bottom at the right corner of the screen and then right clicking on the group. It is very easy to do so and all your apps will be divided according to your wish.

Whenever you want to take a screenshot, you have to follow a long and slow process, press Print Screen, then open up an app like Paint or the GIMP and paste in your screenshot from the clipboard. Now you can get rid of this process, only if you’ve got the Windows 8. Just press Win+Print Screen (or Win+Volume Down on a tablet). After, this Windows will click a picture of your screen and will automatically save it in your picture folder. It works as a simpler shortcut for screenshots right from your OS.

There is another secret of the start screen, your Windows 8 start screen is filled with many rows of apps and the screen can be filled up to 6 rows. If you don’t like that much rows on your screen, so you can edit it but to change the number of rows on the start screen you need to download an app called Registry. But this app doesn’t allow you to fill more tiles onto a smaller monitor but it is a better option to edit your start screen quite easily.

Jump list is a great addition in the Windows, which allows you to keep files which you don’t want others to see. Jump list were having a little privacy problem. Windows 8 solves this problem because it provides you a more secure system which helps you to hide recently opened items and recently opened programs. All you need to do is just right-click on the Taskbar, go to Properties, and click the Jump Lists tab and all your previous files will be no more visible.

The last secret feature of Windows 8 is that if you’ve got multiple Monitors, you might have observed that Windows can extent your taskbar across both the screens. You can do this by pressing Win+PgUp to move your current app to your left monitor, and Win+PgDn to move it to the right monitor. If you wish you can go to the Desktop Background section of your Personalization settings, you can right-click on any individual wallpapers and choose which monitor you’d like it to show up on.
