It seems as if Apple is going to be the leading tech company for receiving maximum number of rumors about its upcoming products. Though the story of the cheaper iPhone is not so clear yet but the rumor factory is not putting the rumors to a halt. Thus another rumor has been received that the lower-end iPhone might have plastic chassis.
In the start of year 2013, there were rumors about the launch of iPhone 5S/6 in this year, but then the claim was replaced by another one that the fruit company might not release one phone, but rather two. The first one will be the higher one with advanced features and something much more then the current iPhone 5 but the other one will be a lower-end, cheaper iPhone that is said to be produced to focus on the emerging markets and to have more shares. Though Apple denied this rumor to be legitimate.
But now there is a new report saying that this cheaper iPhone might have plastic chassis, instead of having reinforced glass or unibody metal as this has been the company’s standard iPhone models. This measure has been taken to save cost, according to “sources from the upstream supply chain” by DigiTimes. This was also mentioned in the previous report that the company might use cheaper components or recycled parts to make this cheaper iPhone.
If we go into the depth then we get to know that iPhone will adopt a chassis mixed with plastic and metal, with the internal metal parts being able to be seen from outside through special design. But the design and specification are going through validation and the actual product will be brought to public in late 2013.
