This is bad news. Evasion untethered jailbreak is going to be fixed in the coming update according to one of the hackers behind the jailbreaking tool Evasion. iOS 6.1.3 has fixed one of the five exploits used for evasion jailbreak, making it useless.
Evasion Jailbreak iOS 6.1.3
Apple released iOS 6.1.3 beta 2 a couple of days ago to developers which brought in some minor bug fixes. Well folks today, we have found out that one of these bug fixes include an exploit which was used for the evasion untethered jailbreak.
Evasion was released on 4 February, and it quickly saw huge download rates; making it the fastest jailbreaking tool in history of iOS devices. It was the first tool that jailbroke the iPhone 5 and the iPad mini. Therefore, it wasn’t a big surprise when we found out that Evasion jailbroke about 7 million iOS devices. It was the most downloaded jailbreaking software in the history!
Well as they say everything that has a beginning has an end. So it’s time for evasion to die. Well not exactly die but “get fixed”.
Planetbeing, one of the hackers behind the jailbreaking tool Evasion told Forbes today that Apple has patched one of the five exploits used for jailbreaking iOS devices. The exploit which has been patched is the one relating to “time zone settings”. Although only one exploit has been patched but according to Wang a.k.a Planetbeing “If one of the vulnerabilities doesn’t work, evasi0n doesn’t work,”.
Now this shouldn’t come as a ‘shock’ to many of you, as Apple has been known to notoriously patch exploits in its iOS firmware very quickly – in fact, patching the Evasion jailbreak has taken longer than usual.
Now don’t freak out because Evasion jailbreak has been fixed. It was expected, so do not update to iOS 6.1.3 once it is released. Which is going to take a month or so.
Don’t freak out because Evasi0n has been fixed. Just do not update to iOS 6.1.3 once it comes out.
