iOS 6.1.3 Untethered Jailbreak
Agree or not, having a jailbroken iOS device; iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, makes these devices simply amazing. Jailbreaking allows a person to run unsigned code on an iOS device, but for the majority of you, you simply want that Cydia store on it.
Evasion was the first software to completely jailbreak all iOS devices on iOS 6.x.x. The jailbreak for iOS 6 was so popular that almost 16 million people downloaded the software in the first month – now, that’s an amazing feat.
Evasion jailbreak’s time finally ran out when Apple released iOS 6.1.3. iOS 6.1.3 is the only version in the iOS 6 series which can not be jailbroken, although a tethered one is available for A4 devices such as the iPhone 4, but an untethered one is still not available.
Well it seems iOS 6.1.3 has finally been cracked. We now have a working video which shows an iPhone 4S running iOS 6.1.3 jailbroken and running Cydia on it.
If you have been following the jailbreak scene then you might remember that a couple of weeks ago we had an iOS hacker mentioning that he had the binary for an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3. That hacker who is called “Winocm” has finally unveiled the jailbreak in a video.
Although the video of the iPhone 4S running iOS 6.1.3 shows Cydia running on it, but it does not detail the process on how to jailbreak untether iOS 6.1.3.
Jeff Benjamin has a video showing the jailbroken iPhone 4S on iOS 6.1.3. Check it out below:
This is definitely great news for those people who had been waiting for an untethered jailbreak. Although there is no mention of the release date, but it does give most of us a hope for the up-coming jailbreaks.
Personally I would rather prefer, a jailbreak being released for iOS 7 than iOS 6.1.3 as we are only a couple of days away from the big release.
