Configuring System 2/2 Error

Those of you who have  jailbroken using Evasion7 are now enjoying the full-fledged Cydia; after Saurik updated Cydia to version 1.1.9, and brought an update to Cydia Substrate (Mobile Substrate). But there is still a majority of users who are stuck and are not able to jailbreak their iPhone, iPad and iPod touch on iOS 7.

iOS 7 untethered jailbreak

The problem that most users are facing while trying to jailbreak iOS 7 using Evasion is that they get stuck on “configuring system 2/2”. This results in the iOS device not being jailbroken.

The reason that an iOS device might get stuck in this step is because a race condition is required, in which your computer has to beat a certain process. This is why most of the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch get stuck while trying to “configure system files”.

Pod2g, the developer behind Evasion jailbreak for iOS 7 tweeted:

configure evasion file

So the solution to the “configuring system 2/2” problem is very simple. You have to just try jailbreaking your iOS device on a faster computer. If you have another computer that is fast, or you can install Evasion on a friends or families laptop, and try jailbreaking on it.

This tips should probably fix the “configuring system 2/2 error” for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch on iOS 7.

  1. WTH?!! I have a HP Pavilion Dv7, Win 8.1, Intel Core i7 with AMD Radeon graphics and it gets stuck on Configuration “2/2”. I properly backed up and restored my iPhone 5 to iOS 7 via iTunes, not OTA.

The way I solved this problem is when the it got stuck on the “Configuring System 2/2″ Error. I opened the program again leaving the other one still running. The second one was able to do the job. When it finished jailbreaking my iphone I just closed both windows. Idk if that will help anyone, but i thought I would share it here. I used a Compaq presario cq62 with 2gigs of ram, running windows xp.

    • Yes, I don’t know exactly what worked but
      I set priority to high
rebooted my phone using the home and sleep button for 10 seconds.
After I thought that wasn’t working I was searching on my phone and it rebooted and I looked up and it was working!

(before I tried opening two of the windows but that didnt work for me)

    • SOLUCIONADOOOO!

  4. Sooooooooooooo I have tried on 3 macs, an acer, and a compact… I had to stick my ready boost haddrive into my cpu to make it work.
