As if Apple products weren’t expensive enough, it seems they are about to get a tad bit more, well at least the iPhone 6 will according to the latest report from the Wall Street Journal. A new report published today by WSJ mentions that the sapphire iPhone 6 will cost more.
A sapphire-screen iPhone 6 has been in the talks for a very long time. It all started when Apple launched the iPhone 5s with the new Touch ID button. The Touch ID button features sapphire which is stronger than Gorilla Glass 3, which is currently on many smartphones. But the problem with sapphire is that it is more expensive.
A more expensive iPhone might not surprise many but if Apple wants to get more people on the Apple bandwagon, the price shouldn’t go higher than it already is.
WSJ mentions that Apple is going to launch two larger iPhones. One of the iPhone 6 is going to feature a sapphire screen, which as you might know is really tough and durable.
But as the iPhone 6 with a sapphire display is going to be better than others, Apple is going to charge a premium.
This is the first time we have heard that Apple will release two iPhones and price them differently because of new features. Apple did this last time but it the price difference was because of the colours not something else.
Well we can find out all the details regarding the iPhone 6 once it is unveiled on September 9.
Would you be willing to pay more for the iPhone 6 with sapphire display?
