The Ultimate Jailbreak Is Here But Not For You!

By -

If you have been following the jailbreaking scene for quite a long time then you would know a few things about the history of jailbreaking. We had a browser-based jailbreak called JailbreakMe, which was by far one of the most simple but efficient jailbreaks of all time released by Comex. So to come up with something similar, we had a contest which had a prize money of one million dollars. Well a team of researchers has just won that.

Zerodium, a company that buys zero-day exploits, held a bounty for those people looking to exploit iOS devices. The competition was that anyone who finds a zero day exploit via browser-based would win one million dollars. Well today was the deadline and one team managed to do that.

A team of security researchers managed to find a vulnerability and exploited it remotely using a browser for the latest Apple operating system, which includes iOS 9.1 and iOS 9.2 beta software.

In more simple words, they created a website which could untether jailbreak an iOS device running iOS 9.1 or iOS 9.2 beta. It might sound good news for you but the thing is that you won’t be able to get it.

Since the company paid one million dollars for the zero-day, they are not going to give it out for free. Zerodium mostly buys zero-day exploits and sells them to governments or intelligent agencies around the world.

Well, it’s a good thing to know that such an exploit exists.
