Apple Releases A Guide For Fixing Error 53

By -

The error 53 was recently put on spotlight after a popular media outlet published a report on how using unauthorized third-party for fixing the home button or the Touch ID can result your iPhone getting bricked, or in layman’s words; dead. Well, Apple has now issued a guide on fixing the error 53.

The error 53 was a big problem for a lot of people as it did not give any warnings on what might happen if you mess with the home button. Without this warning it would just brick your iPhone. Since then a lot of media attention has gone towards error 53 and how to fix it. Therefore Apple has issued a support document.

The support document shows how to fix the error 53 and below is the guide for fixing error 53.

Step 1: Download the latest version of iTunes.

Step 2: Force restart by pressing the home button and sleep/wake button for 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo.

Step 3: Restore your iPhone.

Step 4: Error 53 should be fixed but if you see another error, check out the error page from Apple.

That should technically ‘fix’ your error 53 but to be honest that is not going to fix it. Apple is just doing a formality by releasing that support document.

What Apple wants you to do is; if you keep facing that problem; head to your local Apple store or any authorized retail store. They should fix it for you.

This is not really a fix for error 53 but at least Apple is forcing you to use an authorized retail store. Not sure if that is good or not.

  1. What did you expect !?!

Fingerprint is safety-related… Or in other words… Don’t mess around without proper knowledge of the stuff you are messing around. 😀

Ok… To be honest. They just could cancel the fingerprint functions for your device… And force you to completely wipe the device and the stored fingerprint-related data… BUT THEN it should be usable again, without TOUCHID anymore. That would be fair…

Maybe they think about this way, if they read my suggestion 😉
