Hacker Builds Tool To Unlock iPhone With Passcode

By -

If you have an iPhone and that is currently locked and you forget the passcode now you have a good solution instead of the complete restore. A hacker has built a tool that unlocks the iPhone no matter what passcode you use, and that too in a short amount of time.

TransLock Tool

The tool which goes by the name of TransLock is a BruteForce utility that randomly guesses your passcode until it gets right. It is not as easy as it sounds and there are a few caveats to it.

The tool originally developed by hacker Majd Alfhaily, who is well-known for various tools, developed this but it had some slight problems to it. When the tool was originally built it took 40 seconds to enter a new passcode. Therefore to guess all the correct combinations it would take 110 hours. But things have changed since then.

The hacker has modified the tool and it brute forces in a shorter time period. Instead of the 40 seconds which it used to take, now it takes 5 seconds for every new passcode try. Drastically reducing the time period.

There is one slight caveat to using TransLock, the first being the ethical and legal reasons, the second one is that the iPhone has to have the ability to run unsigned code. Or in simpler terms, the device has to be jailbroken. That puts a lot of iOS devices out of scope.

On the other hand this does represent some harsh realities and that is that your iPhone with the right people can easily be broken into. But don’t worry the probabilities of this are pretty low.
