The day you had been waiting for has come and the curtains have been removed. Apple has finally unveiled the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus. Some rumors came true while others did not. It is time to look at what Apple had been cooking for the past year. Here are the details on what’s new in the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus.

Unlike most of the articles you will see today regarding the iPhone 7 and its big brother. This one is going to be short and precise only detailing in points on what’s actually new in the devices from Apple. So without wasting further reading time. Let’s dig in.

Design

From what you might have seen in the keynote today or the lack of physical appearance of the iPhone 7 in the keynote. The design of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 is almost similar to the iPhone 6S, albeit minor changes to the rear.

The only major difference you will see is in the jet black version of the iPhone but again that is more expensive than the stock versions.

We should give credit to Apple as the new versions of the iPhone are water-resistant (depth of 50 meters) and dust-resistant.

Camera

This is where Apple has put the real hard work. The camera is where Apple is shinning its star and showing off. Probably the major point for buying the device from Apple.

The camera on both the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus have received major upgrades. Here are some major points.

  • Features a 12 megapixel camera.
  • Optical image stabilization.
  • Seven megapixel front facing camera.
  • Quad-LED true tone flash.

Those are for both the iPhone 7 and the 7 Plus. But Apple has really upped the camera on the big brother. The iPhone 7 Plus has added features with two 12 megapixel cameras, one with the wide-angel and the other telephoto lens for higher-quality zooming.

The part where Apple engineers have truly showed off their work is the all-new, depth-of-field effect which basically is DSLR quality material. But this feature is going to be introduced later this year.

AirPods

We know this was coming and it did come out to be true. Apple has finally let go off the 3.5mm headphone jack and is now focusing on wireless as the future.

You will still get the converter for your current headphones but Apple has focused a lot on the wireless AirPods, that are custom designed by Apple for superior sound quality.

They are going to come in a casing which can be used for 24 hours while the AirPods themselves can be used for five hours straight. But this comes at a steep price of $160.
