It seems we all were wrong to think that Apple was way behind on it’s Project Titan, the project that is responsible for its car division. In fact, according to a new report released today by the Guardian, Apple is ready for its car to be tested on the public roads of California!
The Guardian published a report today detailing various new information relating to the Apple Car. The first being that Apple staff contacted California’s department of motor vehicles (DMV) regarding discussion of DMV’s autonomous vehicle regulations. Those are the first steps to getting a self-driving car to the public roads.
Apple has to meet these rules and regulations for testing a self-driving car on the public road. DMV has already issued self-driving permits to various companies, the latest being Honda and BMW.
The interesting part is that Apple’s car is ready to leave the lab and go out on the road. Which shows that the progress regarding the autonomous car is quite far ahead.
We previously found out that Apple was in talks about renting a place where it could test its self-driving car in secrecy at GoMentum.
Well its surely interesting on what Apple has been cooking at its One Infinite Loop office. We will have to wait to find out more.
