AT&T Unlocking In-Contract iPhone’s For U.S Military Personnel

By -

Have a locked iPhone or especially the infamous iPhone 4 baseband 4.11.08 and are you working in the United States military? Well if your answer is yes to both of these questions then your on you’re to getting your iPhone 4 unlocked for free in courtesy of AT&T.

AT&T mentioned couple of days ago that they are changing their unlocking policy for the iPhone. Which meant that you would be able to unlock iPhone for free which were off-contract (currently not in an active term commitment with AT&T).

Unfortunately for some people this meant that they would still not be able to unlock their iPhone especially those with an iPhone 4 baseband 4.11.08. But, if you are in the United States military then it’s a different scenario.

Although carriers are required by federal law to suspend service without penalty for the military, they are not required to unlock iPhone’s. This is something AT&T is doing by itself! This should be a welcome news to anyone who is serving in the military, or maybe not that much.

If you are in the U.S military you can talk to an AT&T customer representative and get your iPhone unlocked. Not only can you unlock iPhone 4 baseband 4.11.08 but also an iPhone 4S!
