iOS 6 is out and with it comes new and amazing features from Apple, ranging from new “Do not disturb” features to 3D Maps. 100 million of you have downloaded iOS 6 but there are some of you who still have not downloaded to the latest version of iOS firmware. The reason is Simple, there is no untethered jailbreak out for iOS 6.
If you own an Apple device that is capable of running iOS 6 and have not updated to the latest firmware, why might you have not updated to iOS 6? Well let’s be honest it has to be the untethered jailbreak.
Although Apple has introduced some new and much needed features for iOS 6, there is still much work to be done to meet what jailbreaking can do for an iOS device. So now the question is when can we get an untethered jailbreak for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch running on iOS 6? Well the answer seems to be “very soon” if we are to believe some rumors.
We currently do have a tethered jailbreak for iOS 6 but after all it’s still a tethered one and that’s only for A4 devices.
Untethered Jailbreak iOS 6
JailbreakCon (formally known as MyGreatFest) is an annual event held for iOS jailbreaking, which features famous iOS hackers from all around the world. This time it is going to be no different. Famous iOS hackers are going to be present at the event which is going to be held in San Francisco on Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM (PDT).
If you remember the last JailbreakCon event, we had a surprise at the end. Absinthe v2.0 was released, jailbreaking (untether) every iOS device. It seems we might have something similar this time.

The tweet from pod2g mentions something interesting. “Apple fail”, which in other words might indicate an exploit found out by posixninja, or it could totally mean something else, but I would go with the first option.
There is a high chance we might get some great news regarding an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6 or maybe get a jailbreak tool for jailbreaking untethered iOS 6. But one thing is for sure and that is we are going to get some news regarding jailbreaking iOS 6.
