iOS 6 Untethered Jailbreak Confirmed
Pod2g, one of the top hackers of the jailbreaking community has confirmed today via an interview that they (Evad3rs) have finally been able to jailbreak untether the latest version of Apple’s iOS firmware.
Pod2g today giving an interview to IDigitalTimes confirmed something most of you had been waiting for quite a long time. iOS 6 has been jailbroken! Not only that, iOS 6.1 beta 4 has been jailbroken too and the hackers are waiting for the final release of iOS 6.1 to be able to publicly release the jailbreak.
Now this is definitely great news!
Pod2g previously tweeted that they have created a new team called “Evad3rs” or Evaders whichever one you prefer pronouncing. This new “Jailbreak team” has been created in order to publicly release the jailbreak tool required for jailbreaking iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
We should mention here that @pod2g a.k.a Cyril isn’t the main person being the untethered jailbreak for iOS 6. The main hackers behind the jailbreak are: @planetbeing who has previously worked on many jailbreaks, and @pimskeks, a member of the iPhone Dev Team.
Once the jailbreak tool has been released for iOS 6/6.1, it will be able to jailbreak the following devices:
iPod touch (latest generations)
The only thing left now is Apple to publicly release iOS 6.1 so we can finally get Cydia running on our iOS devices. But let’s not get too excited here, Apple can still patch up the bugs that are being used to run the jailbreak. But it seems that it isn’t likely to happen.
Well this is definitely great news for everyone who is waiting for the iOS 6 untethered jailbreak. What are your thoughts?
