Apple’s next-generation iPhone is said to pack in some serious hardware according to a latest leak. But today we have another report that might just upset some Apple fans. Apple is going to go another year without upgrading the megapixel on the iPhone. iPhone 6 is going to feature eight megapixel camera!
iPhone 6 Camera
According to AppleInsider, Apple is going to launch the iPhone 6 with the same megapixel count as the previous one: an eight megapixel camera. Now this does not mean Apple won’t improve the camera, it is going to improve the camera but Apple is taking a different way. Instead of packing in more mega pixels, Apple is going to improve the software that takes the pictures.
Apple is expected to improve the camera-stabilization and other image enhancing features. Apple is opting out of the megapixel race that has plagued some major tech companies such as Samsung, Nokia and others.
Why has Apple not decided to improve the megapixel of the camera? Well according to some analyst this is due to the thickness of the smartphone. Apple wants the iPhone 6 to be even thinner than the previous ones, so improving the camera means that some parts will protrude increasing the thickness of the device.
Let me remind those of you who are thinking that the iPhone 6 camera will not be a match for those 13 megapixel+ cameras in the market; megapixel count is not the only factor that makes images better; it does makes the image have higher resolution, but other features play a key role too, such as the lens and the aperture.

Having a greater megapixel count surely won’t hurt but Apple is thinking of other ways.
Right now this is just a rumor so take it with a pinch of salt. Personally I would think that Apple will increase the megapixel count of the iPhone 6 to somewhere between 10-13.
Well what are your thoughts on this?
