Apple released the Swift programming language with great hype and fanfare, many people thought that the future for Swift wouldn’t be too bright. But it seems a lot of them were wrong. Swift programming language has not only grown in popularity but recently Apple made it Open Source, putting a strong foothold for the new language.
In a recent interview Craig Federighi, Apple senior vice president for software engineering mentioned a lot of things regarding the Swift programming language. He talked about why Apple decided to make Swift an Open Source language and how Apple wants developers to focus on Swift as it is the future of programming languages. At the same time he talked how Apple is going to continue supporting the Objective-C language.
Craig also talked about how Swift language is going to power cloud development in the future and Apple wants Swift to be at the core of it.
