Have you finally decided that you are buying an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus but are not ready to stick to a two-year contract - then you can order an unlocked iPhone. Well here is how to order an unlocked iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus through the Apple online store.
Order iPhone 6 Unlocked
Apple unveiled the two iPhones to the world on September 9 and since then the entire tech community has been talking about the devices. I have already written extensively about the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, so make sure you check out those reviews.
If you are still not sure what iPhone to buy then I suggest you check out my post on “iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus - which iPhone to buy?”.
Well if you are sure on which iPhone 6 you are buying and want it unlocked, then check the step-by-step guide below.
Step 1: Decide which iPhone 6 you want to buy.
Step 2: Head over to Apple’s iPhone 6 buying page.
Step 3: Select your iPhone: iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.
Step 4: Now pick your colour. There are three colours available: gold, silver and space grey.
Step 5: Now on “Choose Carrier”, select T-Mobile, as it is currently the only carrier which offers unlocked iPhone 6 or unlocked iPhone 6 Plus. It is also the only carrier which offers contract-free iPhone 6.
Step 6: Now choose what capacity iPhone 6 you would like. In my case I have picked 16 GB.
Step 7: It will show your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus entire configuration. It will show something very similar to what is in the image below.
Note: At the time of writing, the iPhone 6 pre-orders have not started, that’s why the “select” button is not coloured. But if you are reading after 12 September 2014, then it will be coloured for you.
Step 8: Now click on the “select” button and you are good to go. Next to the select button it will also show you the total price for your iPhone 6.
Now fill out the forms for your shipping details and credit card information and you are good to go.
That’s it folks, it is as simply as that. You will now have an unlocked iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus and can use it on any carrier of your choice.
Those of you who are looking to get the two-year contract ones can follow the same method except at “step 5” select another carrier. This way you will have an up front cost starting from $199 and additional payment per month based on your carrier.

So if I purchase the T-Mobile unlocked contract free phone, will it work for Verizon/CDMA network?
It will work on other GSM networks.
no, its still locked onto tmobile for 45 days then you can request an unlocked version
You’re an idiot a GSM phone won’t work on CDMA like verizon. Good job trying to screw people over. Absolute idiot
You did say that by purchasing the contract-free iPhone you will get it factory unlocked. However, I spoke to an Apple representative and they told me that it does not work that way. So?? Help me out here. Will it work or will it not work?
Will it work on other country’s gsm. Ex. In asia?
????
Will it work in Asia (Saudi Arabi)???????
This is NOT CORRECT!!! T-Mobile phones are LOCKED to T-Mobile!!
betastall.com has few pre orders left for both models unlocked, they ship on 19th..
Have you ever purchased anything on Betastall.com?
What should i do to use it in Nepal… I bought it from USA
So, a Apple rep told me that ALL iPhone 6 and 6 plus phones are “SAME worldwide radios and multi-band capable”! He further said that ALL T-Mobile purchases would REQUIRE a “nano-SIM” for the respective carrier … like, us with Verizon.
I called Verizon and said that I have access to a “prize someone won for a T-Mobile iPhone 6 Plus” …
WOULD I be able to “get a Verizon Nana-SIMM card and how-much?
She said FREE at any Verizon store - and THEN, that iPhone 6 Plus COULD BE ACTIVATED on Verizon !!!
TRUE or FALSE??
Apple sales told me that T-Mobile had a multitude of radios and included all of the US carriers bands - I just needed to get a Nano SIMM form Verizon in my case … true or false?
