The Pangu team has unexpectedly released the jailbreak for iOS 8/8.1. Those of you who can’t wait to jailbreak their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch; well I have the tutorial for you. Here is the guide on how to jailbreak iOS 8/8.1 using Pangu for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
Pangu iOS 8 Jailbreak
Just like last year, when Pangu Team, out of the blue, released the jailbreak for the previous firmware, they have done the same thing again. Pangu for iOS 8 jailbreak has been released but this time there are a few things you should know before attempting to jailbreak.
I have mentioned those things in the previous post, so check that out. But if you are lazy, let me give you the long and short of it.
- This Pangu jailbreak will not install Cydia directly, you will have to install manually. A guide for that will be posted on the homepage so check that out too.
- This version of Pangu for iOS 8 is compatible with all iOS devices that support iOS 8.
- Pangu will jailbreak all iOS 8 versions from 8 - iOS 8.1.
- Currently only available for Windows, Mac version coming out soon.
- Might face some bugs as this is basically intended for developers.
Before attempting this guide, make sure you read the bullet notes above, as they are very important. Once again I will mention that, this is not a “friendly consumer version” jailbreak. So proceed with your own risk.
Currently the language is in Chinese but it is still pretty straight-forward to understand, so let’s begin!
iOS 8 Jailbreak Guide
Step 1: Download Pangu jailbreak for iOS 8.1.
Step 2: Run Pangu, make sure you are running it in administrator mode.
Step 3: Connect your iOS device.
Step 4: Click on the “PP” box to uncheck it ( you can see from the image above).
Step 5: Now click on the blue button, which most probably says “Jailbreak”.
Step 6: Now Pangu will start jailbreaking your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Let the process complete. Be patient.
Step 7: The Pangu icon will appear in your springboard, confirming that you have jailbroken your device.
That is it folks, if you have followed the steps correctly your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch should be jailbroken on iOS 8 using Pangu.
