Apple has released iOS 8.1.1 couple of days ago and some of you might have mistakenly upgraded to the new software. If for whatever reason you want to downgrade back to iOS 8.1, I have the guide for you. Well check out the guide below on downgrading back to iOS 8.1.
Download iOS 8.1.1 to iOS 8.1
The number one reason why you might want to downgrade back to iOS 8.1 is the jailbreak. iOS 8.1.1 kills the Pangu jailbreak. Which as you will know marks the end of the Pangu8 jailbreak. So sticking to iOS 8.1 is a great idea considering the changes in iOS 8.1.1 are not enough to make you want to upgrade to the latest version.
Well here is how to downgrade from iOS 8.1.1 to iOS 8.1.
Step 1: Download iOS 8.1.
Step 2: Connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to computer and run iTunes.
Step 3: Now hold the “option” button and click on the “Check for update”.
Step 4: Now search for the IPSW file that you downloaded in Step 1 and select it.
Step 5: iTunes will now “update” your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to iOS 8.1.
Step 6: Once it has downgraded back to iOS 8.1, head over to Pangu jailbreak guide to jailbreak your iOS device.
This guide should work as long as Apple is still signing the iOS 8.1 firmware. At the time of writing Apple is still signing the firmware, but if you face any error during the downgrading process, that means Apple has stopped signing the firmware and you will no longer be able to downgrade to iOS 8.1.
